The Canterbury Jet Sports Club presents Lyttelton – Akaroa Enduro 17th October 2015
In association with Yamaha Waverunner Centre
The Lyttleton-Akaroa Jet Ski event is a ocean ride where entrants navigate their PWC around Banks Peninsula from Lyttleton Port to Akaroa. Entrants can opt to attend the event as a race competitor or as a social competitor. Only race competitors will have their official time scored and be eligible for the event trophies. This event requires an adequate level of fitness and a mechanically sound PWC.
Pole Ski Event; Due to fuel tank limitations Pole ski’s will race/ride to Okains bay only. There is one compulsory fuel stop at a designated bay TBA.
Runabout Event; All Runabouts will race/ride to Akaroa. Depending on your ski type/fuel limitations you may be required to re fuel your ski at Okains Bay. Contact your PWC dealer for advice on fuel.

Saturday 17th October
8.00am Sharp; Final Safety Check of riders safety equipment at Lyttleton
9.30am; Riders Briefing and launching of skis
10.30am Event Start.
TBA Bay Re fueling for Pole Skis only
Okains Bay; Final stop for all Pole Skis
Re fueling stop for Runabouts if required
Akaroa Finish for all Runabouts
Prize Giving at The Maderia Hotel approx 6pm
What you Need
* Mechanically Sound PWC. Your Ski MUST meet NZJSBA legal event/race requirements.
Check with your local PWC shop if you are unsure or contact a CJSC committee member.
* Wet suit and footwear COMPULSORY.
* Approved Life Jacket (US Coast Guard Type I or III) and Helmet (Full face Dot or Snell Approved)
* Tow rope and bow loop (rope loop through nose of Ski for easy connection of tow rope if necessary)
* Working Lanyard
* Adequate level of fitness and ski competency. You must be able to board your ski in rough water.
We Recommend;
* Wind Proof Jacket, Gloves,
Depending on your Ski type you may also require;
* Spare fuel to top up your ski at half way point (check amounts needed with PWC shops)
The Lyttleton – Akaroa Enduro requires an adequate level of fitness.
We highly recommend you ride your PWC in the sea leading up to the event.
Due to the style of race around the peninsula and the rugged coastline it is not possible for riders to beach their skis if in trouble. Any undertow can quickly wash you out to sea should your ski fail. As part of your entry you will be fitted with a tracker.
Competitors are NOT permitted to ride their skis back to Lyttleton unattended.
Note; For safety reasons (due to fuel restrictions) All Pole Skis can only race from Lyttleton to Okains Bay.
Point System and Trophies
If you have entered into the race section of the event you will be timed for the overall race placing’s
Pole skis will be timed from Lyttleton – Akaroa (including their compulsory fuel stop)
Runabouts will be timed for their entire race to Akaroa including their fuel stop if they should require one.
Penalties will be incurred for breaking speed restriction close to beaches and for any fuel split whilst re fueling.
Trophies:
Trophies will be awarded for each individual class (depending on class numbers some may only have 1st place only). Selected classes are also awarded the annual perpetual trophy which must be returned before next year’s event.
A large pool of spot prizes will also be given out to selected riders as decided by Canterbury Jet Sports Club Committee.
It is compulsory to send your entry form back to the CJSC prior to the event (by the 7/10/15). No on the day entries will be accepted!
