The NZJSBA has recently drafted and adopted an Alcohol & Other Drugs Policy. The NZJSBA is committed to the health and safety of all people and to provide a safe environment at its sanctioned events. The NZJSBA and its members, including affiliate associations, clubs and organising committees, also have a legal duty to take reasonable care of participants at sanctioned events.
The NZJSBA recognises that the use of alcohol and other drugs can adversely affect an individual’s performance and can be a contributing factor towards making the sport unsafe, increasing the likelihood that injuries and damage to property and equipment will or could occur.
The NZJSBA Alcohol & Other Drugs Policy has been adopted to provide for a drug and alcohol-free environment and through doing so ensure that both competitors and officials are not impaired in their ability compete or officiate in a safe and healthy manner. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the policy.
